Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct for the Veteran of Public Safety (VPS) embodies the principles and values that guide our organization, ensuring that all  uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. This Code of Conduct serves as a framework for ethical behavior, promoting a culture of respect, accountability, and dedication to our mission.

1. Integrity and Ethics

All shall act with unwavering integrity and uphold the highest ethical standards in all their interactions, both within the organization and in the broader community. This includes honesty, transparency, and the avoidance of any actions that could bring discredit to VPS or the public safety profession.

2. Respect and Dignity

We are committed to treating all individuals with respect and dignity, regardless of their background, beliefs, or affiliations. Discrimination, harassment, or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated within VPS.

3. Professionalism

All are expected to maintain high professionalism in their conduct, appearance, and communication. This includes adhering to applicable laws, regulations, and the established standards of the public safety profession.

4. Accountability

We acknowledge our responsibility to be accountable for our actions and decisions. All should be transparent in their dealings, take ownership of their responsibilities, and be open to feedback and improvement.

5. Confidentiality

Some may have access to sensitive information. It is imperative that such information is handled with the utmost confidentiality and not disclosed without proper authorization. Breaches of confidentiality are strictly prohibited.

6. Support and Camaraderie

VPS is founded on the principles of camaraderie and support. We are committed to assisting  in times of need and fostering a sense of community within the organization.

7. Compliance with Policies

All who utilize our services and facilities are expected to be familiar with and adhere to VPS's policies. Non-compliance with these regulations may result in disciplinary action.

8. Conflict Resolution

In the event of conflicts or disagreements, all are encouraged to seek amicable resolution through constructive communication and, when necessary, the appropriate channels within VPS.

9. Positive Representation

VPS shall always strive to positively represent the organization and the public safety profession in all public and private interactions.

10. Commitment to the Mission

Above all, VPS is committed to advancing the organization's mission to promote camaraderie, provide support, and enhance the safety and well-being of both the public safety community and the community they serve.

Violation of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, up to and including participation termination, as determined by the governing body of VPS. Upholding this Code is a collective responsibility, and members are encouraged to uphold these principles and report any violations promptly. By adhering to this Code of Conduct, participants contribute to the continued success and positive impact of our organization within the public safety community.
